He took Lenise’s hand and press the envelope into her palm.
Examining it, Lenise flipped it over. “What’s in here?”
He lifted an eyebrow. “Babysitting money.”
Lenise squinted and pushed it back into his hand. “This isn’t necessary. If I want to go out, I can pay my own sitter.”
Cole raised a hand to his face. He stroked his freshly trimmed chin hair. “Yeah, but if I overpay her, she’ll be more inclined to be willing to sit for you again.” He put the card on the hall table.
Lenise cocked her head. He was a man who was used to getting what he wanted. That was obvious. “How can you be sure you’ll want to take me out again?”
He released a breath and took her hand. “I knew I wanted another date when you opened the door.”
